Maye Musk Makes a Statement in These 6 Gorgeous Photos From Belize

Maye Musk felt “fantastic” during her 2022 SI Swimsuit photoshoot in Belize—and she looked fantastic, too. At 74, she was the oldest woman to ever grace the cover of the magazine at the time.

While Musk has been modeling since the age of 15, her 60s and 70shave brought a lot of meaningful moments in her career. Between her SI Swimsuit feature and her opportunities to walk on the Milan, Paris and New York Fashion Week runways, Musk’s career is just as fruitful as ever. “I’ve been through the hard times. Now, I’m living the life,” she remarked while on set in Belize with photographer Yu Tsai. 

And for the brand, the message behind her cover feature was clear: Age doesn’t determine what you can or can’t do. “It’s an important moment for women and for people that think they can’t do things or that there’s a timeline on their goal list,” editor in chief MJ Day said at the time.

Musk was equally thrilled when she learned she’d landed the cover of the publication.

“I’m very excited to let people know that women in their 70s are gorgeous,” she said at the time.

This year, of course, the title of the oldest woman to grace the publication’s cover was taken by Martha Stewart. Nevertheless, we will never forget the photoshoot that paved the way: Musk’s trip to Belize. Here are a few of our favorites from the feature.
